Our volunteer Board of Directors brings together Durham Region residents who care about community safety and want to help Crime Stoppers thrive.
What the Board does
The Board oversees Durham Regional Crime Stoppers as a community-run charitable organization. Directors help protect the integrity of the program, approve eligible tip rewards, oversee finances, raise funds, and build awareness throughout Durham Region.
Board members also help develop fundraising ideas and community partnerships that keep the anonymous tip program available.
Who can apply
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Live in Durham Region.
- Be able to attend one meeting each month, normally on the second Wednesday.
- Be prepared to make a two-year commitment.
- Not be a member or volunteer of a police service.
- Be willing to obtain a Criminal Record Check, paid for by Durham Regional Crime Stoppers.

- Your résumé.
- The names and phone numbers of two references.
- Why you are interested in joining, your understanding of the Board's work, and the skills you would bring.
