Police are looking to identify a suspect in a fraud.

The victim received a phone call from someone claiming to be from their cell phone provider. The victim provided an authentication code and the suspect disabled the victim’s phone in a “Sim swap”

The suspect also opened a credit card in the victim’s name and made several purchases.

The suspect is described as: male, Black, beard and short black hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt, black track pants with Jordan logo and white sandals with socks.

Anonymous information can be sent to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 and tipsters may be eligible for a $2,000 cash reward.
